Welcome to Name Three Players!

Welcome to Name Three Players!

Hello! Thank you for coming to my new blog, "Name Three Players"!

I'd like to start off by explaining the name. As a female sports fan, our fandom is often second guessed. That's just how it is. I can't tell you how many times when I state that I'm a fan of "X" team, a dude will tell me to "name three players" to prove that I know what I'm talking about. I honestly think it's funny because I like to rattle off the whole roster and make them look like an asshole. So yeah, that's where the name came from.

If you don't know me already, I'm Meredith, and I am a diehard, psychopath sports fan. If you do know me, you already know this, and know that this is my second venture into blogging. I had an old blog that was mostly just me spitting out rants about the Yankees......

......and this blog will be very similar (although I'm going to try to reel back the cursing a LITTLE). I'll be posting as worthy topics come along (and I have time to write about them). Now, since this is an intro post, a little bit about me.

Sports are my life. They have been since I can remember. The teams that ultimately control how happy I am on any given day are the Yankees, Giants, and Rangers, although I'm also a UConn basketball fan (just not as diehard as the first three). Technically I'm a Knicks fan too, but I hate Carmelo Anthony and the current team, and I'd honestly at this point rather see Kemba win (see above UConn fandom).

Within those teams, the Yankees are probably the most important thing in the world to me (besides my family and few best friends, I guess (I just have to say that in case they read this)). Growing up, I was an absolute tomboy. Wore solely Yankee shirts to school. Incorporated them into any school project or assignment I had. The best and worst moments of my life are all thanks to the Yankees (add in the two Giants Super Bowl wins as well). I mean, I cried more when the Yankees booted ARod last month than I've ever cried over someone dying (knock on wood I guess?).

I was in not one, but TWO places in my senior yearbook for being a nutbag Yankee fan (nutbag? who are you? That sounds like what a redneck calls their balls. "Ouch Ma! She hit me in the nutbag!" ANYWAY..). The first was some Yankee vs. Red Sox fans photo, obviously I was one of the few chosen to partake. The second, was people being chosen for something they're "known for". I was chosen for always wearing a Yankee shirt and *surprise*, the day they told me and came to take my pic, you know what I was wearing (I didn't have great style in high school).

So yeah, that's a little about me, blah blah I'd die for Derek Jeter blah blah.

Onto the next part and the part I'm most excited about! To accompany this blog, I am hoping to have a podcast as well. Ideally, I'd like to have a different co-host every week as we discuss the past week's hot topics. It will be mostly sports but we will also cover the biggest and most pressing topics in general (for example, we 100000% would've covered the Kim vs. Taylor feud. That shit was prime peak A+ Internet. It's honestly why the web was formed IMO).

So yeah! That's it! If there's any topics you'd like me to cover, questions, concerns, ideas, ANYTHING, please let me know!

P.S. I just made this Squarespace site and I am sure that the formatting will be changing. This is just a basic beginning so I can get it up and going!
