Dallas Keuchel: Owned

What. A. Game. We finally took Dallas Keuchel the eff down. I’ve been saying this the entirety of the playoffs. All these stupid statistics they show about this player vs. this pitcher or this team vs. team in the previous games etc.? It’s bullshit. Doesn’t matter. That’s the past and this is the present. Statistics of teams down 0-2? Doesn’t matter. Literally irrelevant. You play the game for a reason. Yeah Dallas Keuchel has owned us. But I don’t give a shit. You know who also owned us in the regular season? Corey Kluber, who’s in my kitchen making me a goddamn omelette right now.

It’s funny because even though we came back down 0-2 to Cleveland, that wasn’t our best baseball. I’ve seen the Yankees play hotter than that plenty this season. But now, NOW? Oh now y’all should be worried. Aaron is hitting. Gary is hitting. Headley might literally be on fire right now. And by the way, people forget how Headley was one of our best hitters this season. I think the ambiguity of him randomly playing a game here and there was an adjustment for him and now he’s finally locked in.

What’s been important to take note of the last two games is that we haven’t been scoring all of our runs on the home run which is huge for us. Relying on the home run isn’t really sustainable. You have to be able to get runners home however possible. Productive outs, singles, doubles. And that’s what this team has been doing.

Also need to note that like 90% of our runs have come with two outs which is insane (90% is an exaggeration but it’s a lot). This team is scrappy and doesn’t go away. Nothing and no one intimidates them. Verlander in Houston in game six? You mean the guy who took weird naked mirror pics with his girlfriend? Yeah, doubt they’re scared of that guy.

This series is ours to win now. Let’s fucking go Yanks.
