Fuck the New York Giants Front Office
DISCLAIMER: normally I try to limit my cursing on here, but this blog is an exception. RELEASE THE “FUCKS”!!!!!
I can't believe I am writing this blog. I knew I would be eventually, but deep down, I hoped I was wrong. But alas, being right so often can be a gift and a curse. I could find you every single tweet I’ve had predicting this moment, but it’s not that hard to believe someone would have predicted the Giants would fuck up a special talent.
But they did it. They traded Odell Beckham. I'm not even going to go into the trade details because they don't fucking matter. The fact of the matter is, they could've gotten OBJ for Tom Brady, Antonio Brown, and the fucking ghost of Johnny Unitas and I'd still be furious. Because Odell should be untouchable and on any franchise with a brain, he would be. Most teams would bless their lucky charms to have a player with the caliber of talent that Odell Beckham has. He's one of the best players in the league, and if he keeps going the way he has been, he'll be a hall of famer, no doubt.
But the Giants just couldn't take that he was a little too passionate. That's it. That's the full length of the problem. And this is why I didn't want Machado (besides the fact that he's a fucking dick). In order to succeed in New York City sports, you have to be stoic like Jeter, Eli, Henrik, Judge, etc. Anything else and the media will eat you alive. I don't know if the media's constant criticism of the dumbest little things got into the front office's heads or if they're just stupid (we know it's the latter, hello Landon Collins?), but this is virtually unforgivable.
I wrote a blog back when Josh Brown beat his wife because the Giants were faster to condemn Odell punching a net than they were Brown punching his wife and it was absolutely unforgivable. Here it is for reference: http://www.namethreeplayers.com/home/2016/10/21/the-giantsjosh-brown-debacle
But it's true. At the time, the Giants were quicker to speak out about Odell's field antics than they were about someone who had committed domestic violence. If the Giants had just stuck by their player, said they loved Odell's passion and enthusiasm, it would've been a non-issue. It didn't affect the team negatively. We know he's a genuinely good guy. It never had to be an issue until the Giants made it one. They mishandle talent so badly it's insane. You saw what happened with Landon Collins last week. And I guess I should just enjoy Saquon while I can because he'll be gone in the next few years, my guess is by his own choosing, and I won't be able to blame him one bit.
I am just so disappointed in this franchise. I don't know what to do with myself right now. Whatever, I'm a Browns fan now.
